For chlorinated pools (salt water pools; salt cells, aka chlorine generating salt cell are considered to be a chlorinated pool): Chlorine residual 1.0 - 3.0 ppm pH 7.2 - 7.8 *pH is not measured as ppm Total alkalinity 80 ppm - 120 ppm Cyanuric acid (stablilizer) 40 ppm - 90 ppm (see your manual if you have a salt cell) Calcium hardness 200 - 400 ppm

| CHLORINE 1 - 3 ppm: Rapidly raise chlorine levels by shocking the pool with All Clear granular chlorine (several types exist). Calcium hypochlorite is a consumer favorite. Green algae and some conditions of cloudy water can be eradicated by properly shocking the water. Help maintain chlorine residual moment to moment by using All Clear 3" tri-chlor tablets in a chlorine feeder.
pH 7.2 - 7.8: Raise pH level by using pH increaser, such as All Clear Soda Ash. Follow the chart in your All Clear test kit for correct amount to add. Lower pH level by adding muriatic acid around the perimeter of the pool. Follow the chart in your All Clear test kit for the correct amount to add for your pool conditions.
TOTAL ALKALINITY 80 - 120 ppm: Raise TA level by using All Clear Alkalinity. Generally speaking, 1 pound of Alkalinity will raise 10,000 gallons of water 10 parts per million. A chart will exist for exact amounts to use in your All Clear 4-In-1 Test Kit. Lower TA level by adding muriatic acid to one area of the deepest area of the pool water. Consult the chart in your All Clear 4-In-1 Test Kit for amount to use for your pool.

CYANURIC ACID 20 - 90 ppm: Raise cyanuric acid level by adding All Clear Cyanuric Acid to the pool per package directions. Cyanuric acid (not similar to muriatic acid) is used to protect chlorine in the water from degradation by sunlight. A very wide range of residual level is acceptable due to many reasons... Salt chlorinated pools require higher residual levels (see your salt cell manual); Indoor pools require no cyanuric since there is usually no sunlight shining on the water; All Clear 3" chlorine tablets have the stabilizing cyanuric acid built into the tablet; Calcium hypochlorite has no stabilizing cyanuric in it. A residual of 40 ppm should be considered acceptable in most cases. Lower cyanuric acid level by discontinuing the source for as long as it takes to naturally lower itself, otherwise drain part of the pool water and re-fill with fresh water for a rapid lowering (then re-balance all chemistry as necessary).
CALCIUM HARDNESS 200 - 400 ppm: Raise calcium hardness level by adding All Clear Calcium. Lower calcium harness level by partially draining the pool and refilling with fresh water (assuming the fresh re-fill water is low in hardness). There is no chemical that currently exists to lower hardness in the pool water.
